Recent happenings.
The harvesting of the bananas. We cut them, then they ripened to a golden yellow, then we fried them, sprinkled them with cinnamon and sugar and ate them for breakfast. We gave a lot away too, because we have three other big bunches ready to cut as well.
Here is our first meeting of the moms and kids to organize for our Pilgrim's Progress play. We are watching a video of the English version being performed to inspire our kids. They were all enthralled, and the moms are excited too. ( This is in our schoolroom. You can see the humidity has peeled the paint of the walls in places. I plan to repaint a lot of the house when the rains stop for good.)

HI Ange,
What is the play for? Will the kids be performing it for your Christmas Program? Very ambitious!
And fried bananas and cinnamon sounds kind of strange, but yummy! Is it best with fairly green bananas?
The play is serving a combination of needs -- homeschool extracurricular activity, Christian activity for public school kids, time of fellowship for both kids and moms, and a Sunday school program for around Christmas time. And the bananas-they are a different kind of banana that is shorter and meatier than the ones you eat in Canada. If you fry them when they are green you would eat them with ketchup, because they are like a chip; but when they ripen, they turn very sweet. Isn't our God so amazing as to create such a variety in creation. Before we moved here, I didn't know there were so many different kinds of bananas. Now, I can think of at least five different varieties off the top of my head, and I am sure there are many more.
How exciting, Ang, to see that pic of the group down there watching the Pilgrim's Progress video! I'm so thrilled that it can be used by another group - we'll pray it's a real blessing to you all, as it was to us.
Great pictures Ange. Looks like cutting the bananas down was a great group event :)
Yes, may the kids learn a lot & benefit from it! Someday we need to watch the video ourselves... where did you get a copy? Maybe we could borrow it somehow... :)
