Our owl
We rescued Hoot from a fallen tree. Did you know owls don't drink water, but rather need the blood of fresh meat to survive? Thus, we got fresh chicken liver from the butcher and fed her by putting small pieces on the end of a stick. We kept Hoot for about a month and a half before donating her to La Loma park's mini-zoo. The vet there says she will soon be able to fend for herself in the wild and we can help to release her!

Wow - what a neat thing to do! And fun that you can also help with its release. Made me think of "Owls in the Family" - a book by Farley Mowat that we used as a read-aloud a coupla years ago which the kids LOVED! It was one of my favourite stories when I was young, too!
And, Happy Birthday, Josh! May you grow up strong for the Lord, using all the abilities He's given you to His glory!

Ditto the comment regarding "Owls in the Family".... that's a great book. Did you know that my dad had a pet great-horned owl? :) It eventually got too big, and he had to release it way off in the wild.
And happy birthday, Josh! 6 already. Wow!
Really neat!!! Birds are great pets! :)
