Jovenes Diferentes (Different Young People)
While we were at the zoo, our two young people, Lizeth and Marisol, and also Matt VD our summer intern, participated in a youth conference of the Presbyterian church. The theme was 1 Timothy. The whole day was set up as a competition in speeches, music, drama, and Scripture knowledge. Marisol is standing in the last picture. Our hope is that our young people would be encouraged by other Christian youth and know that they are not alone in coming out and being separate from the dark culture around them.

That's really neat that your young peoples are able to get together with, and encourage other young peoples. Can they do that more often, or is it to far away?

Leon is 5 hours away, and costs $200 in tolls on the highway for a round trip. The nearest Presbyterian church is in Guadalajara and is 2 1/2 hours away and costs $60 for a round trip. Travel is not as simple in Mexico as it is in Canada. However, we do plan to do this as often as possible, regardless of the cost!
