Colonial Queretaro

We enjoyed going as a family to Queretaro and Guadalajara where Rich had some meetings last month. We made a number of very nice visits with people, but my nighttime pictures of them did not turn out so well. We do love the beautiful architecture of Queretaro and enjoyed our old downtown hotel and its surroundings. This first picture show one of the oldest houses in the city, now converted into a hotel. The walls and ceilings are handpainted, though this picture does not do justice to the intricate decor.

Here I am trying to get the kids to look enthusiastic about this beautiful fountain that is probably hundreds of years old. Only Christi is cooperating.
