Dear Adela
Adela, a widow among our members, has appointed herself the task of providing flowers for the church every week. After the service she insists we take them home to enjoy. Such a small detail, but how often it cheers me. It mostly cheers me to think of Adela thinking forward to what she carries in her hand to church. She either clips the best of what is in her own garden, or goes to her neighbours and friends explaining she needs flowers to take to church, or she buys them at her own expense. She carefully shields them during the walk and then the bus ride that takes her up to an hour every week; arriving disappointed if a stem is bent on the way. What she carries in her hand to church, shows what is in her heart-- something really beautiful.

I often think of Adela, can you give her a big hug for me? And tell her I love her!:)
That is so sweet & thoughtful of her! How beautiful to see the work of the Holy Spirit in transforming hearts & lives! Twila Paris's song comes to mind... "How beautiful is the body of Christ."
I'm so glad you posted this--it really spoke to me today. ((hugs))
